Tutus and CARS!

Lily and Jake have had a very exciting and fun past few weeks. Not only did we go to Baja last week, but the week before that Lily had her first Ballet recital! She was awesome! I had been forewarned by other parents that I shouldnt expect much, and that she most likely would be running to me. She didnt do any of that! It was a very short recital, there was just her class, and about 2 songs. So it was short and sweet, and she danced every step (almost) and really paid attention to what she was doing! She really was adorable. So the picture above is her with her teacher after the performance. I will get the video of her as soon as I can but I videoed it with the camcorder and I have no idea how to get it on the computer, so hopefully soon! Oh yeah and I made Lilys tutu isnt it cute?

Jakes school put on the KINDY500! We had to make a car and the only real stipulations were that he had to be able to carry it around all day at school comfortably. So Nephi went to work and created a masterpiece first shaping a box, and then shaping "Lightning" out of foam-o-fill stuff, then he added a thin paper skin. The paint job looks awesome, huh? and the tires are marie calendar pie tins, so they have that really shiny rim! Jake felt really cool all day at school. They did the coolest things too. They had drive ins for drinks and popcorn, and a drive in movie! The had some of the Police Officer dads in uniform there writing tickets for a red light green light game! It was so much fun! We cannot wait until Lilys turn, she already wants a pink car! What a fun and extremely busy couple of weeks we had!

Grandchild trip 2009

Every year, my grandparents take the grandchildren down to their house in Mexico for a week of fun without parents. However, as we, the grandchildren, have gotten older older there have been fewer and fewer grandchildren to take. So they have begun to include the grandchildren and the great grandchildren! So the last few years I have been included once again in the granchild spring breaks in Mexico. We had so much fun, we spent 6 days in Mexico this time, and fully enjoyed every minute of it!
This is our little fam in our fabulously famous BAJA shirts!

Lily danced and pranced all week for some reason, this is only one of the many pics of her dancing. Arabesques that she learned from ballet, cute, huh?

Jake literally JUMPED into the ocean, without any coaxing or prodding or begging! I was shocked! He was braver than I was, I couldnt make it past my waist!

Shell hunting

Best and worst friends. What is it about 2 and 3 year old girls? Their emotions are like light switches that turn off and on like crazy!

Nephis big project this year was painting a surfboard that has been left in the house for future use. Not that we used it at all, but it looked cute. It has the footprints of Jake, Lily, Hailey, and Cody. Hailey is Colins little girl. Isnt it cute?

My cute kids loved the quads!

We cannot wait until next year! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa, we love you!

Cool things happening

Lily Kaye has started Ballet and tap classes! I am so excited and thankfully, so is she! She did so well at her first lesson, she was prepared, and followed most of the teachers instructions, and had so much fun! Nephi came with me, and we seriously had a blast just watching her! Even a little cooler, is that I chose to go through the city, since this is a first and who knows how seriously she will take it, so anyways, it ended up being at the same studio I dance at in high school! The company I danced for has moved on, but a new company took the same place, and she is even in the same room I danced in before! So, I thought that was pretty cool. Shes looks beautiful, and we cant wait to put the video of her last recital in 8 weeks! She is awesome!

So, finally, I have started a blog, entirely devoted to my latest cake creations! it is listed on my page here as Sweet cakes, but I am not entirely sure about that title yet, so dont list it yet on any of yours! but, you can check it out from time to time, because hopefully, I will come up with some amazing creations! I listed an ad with Craigs list just to see if I get anything, a friend of mine said she got quite a few responses, so we will see. Wish me luck everyone!

The holidays!

So the holidays are over! I cannot believe it! It is over! I dont know if I should shout with joy or sadness. We had such a good christmas and new years, and my kids had so much fun, they received everything they wanted and MORE! My mom is about to die with the overflowing toys they have now! One of my favorite parts of the holidays are reflecting on the fact that my kids have grown so much, Jake has asked for the pretty much the same thing every year from santa, and it is amazing to me to see his growth every year, with the SAME present! Does that make any sense? I can remember every reaction at Christmas, and this year was the best one yet!
(It probably helped that I insisted that there was no way I was getting him legos this year, and he had better be extra good or Santa wouldnt either!! ) Lily and her sweet cousin Hailey got the same baby dolls so they are posing together with their carriers in one of the pics. My cousin McCall received the best gift ever in our gift exchange game this year when she chose some elfish green boxers with bells at the bottom and she tried on her moms lovely new Christmas sweater that would definitely fit right at home with a cowboy, so her picture is below too, even though you cant see it well. That same sweater made it to the top 5 finals in the annual ugliest christmas sweater at the hulls christmas party! Congrats Shawn Packer family you will have the coolest sweater to wear every year!
New years was low key, Nephis sister Emily came to visit us, and we took our families to the park to play and talk. It was really nice, we dont see Emily often because she lives in Reno. Then at the house we invited Colin and Jamie, and Anna and Nate to come over and play rockband2 with us ALL NIGHT!! We had a lot of fun, or at least the boys had a lot of fun... Anyways, Cody went to bed early but Jake and Lily actually stayed up until 12.. Well, Jake fell asleep at 10 til! But Lily made it, and was super cranky until 10 after when she fell asleep! I am sincerely impressed I thought for sure they would be out long before then, I guess rockband was louder than I thought! So thats it, I'm sorry for taking so long to post. Merry Christmas to all of my dear and wonderful friends and families out there! We love you all and hope you had wonderful holidays!

Yes on 8!

So I had to post these, because I am so proud of my kids, and their long suffering
hours at the few prop 8 sign waving days we went to. After the first time, they really did well, and had a lot of fun! These pics include Jakes friend JP Boyd, and one includes part of JP's mom and sister! Sorry, Becky! I didnt take these pics! Anyways, yeah for Prop 8! The unimaginable was accomplished and the long suffering was rewarded, even through the different trials we all suffered we all stood strong and beat the opposition back, so to speak. Anyways, it is really sad to see the issues that are continuing, especially the no on 8 people gathering at the LA temple! You know what really bothers me most though? All I hear is how sad, you people have broken hearts today and with prop 8, well you know what if it had gone the other way there would have been a lot more broken hearts out there! and would they have cared at all? NO! Would we have marched on their sacred places of worship or their homes? NO! I really am fired up about this. Why is it all about their rights? What about ours? We are just as entitled to believe what we believe and live as we would like to live as they are theirs. Sorry everyone, I just had to rant a little.

Jakes first field trip!

Here are pics of Jakeys first field trip ever! The kindergarten went to the Live Oak Canyon Pumpkin patch. They got a Tractor ride, a visit to the petting zoo, and a chance to pick out their own pumpkin! They all had a lot of fun, I went along, and was assigned my Jake, and another little boy named Gavin. The kids were exhausted once they got back on the bus, oh yeah that was another thing, this was Jakes first time ever riding on the school bus! He had a ton of fun, in fact I asked him if he just wanted to drive back with us (I carpooled with some friends in the ward) and he said no, I really want to ride the bus. Just wait, soon he will be begging me to drive him, I used to HATE the bus!!
By the way, this petting zoo was crazy! The goats were jumping all over me! I could not wait to get out of there! But the kids loved it, go figure right?

The whole class! cute, huh?

Another baby gets older!

So, my Lily is turning 3 this weekend! I am a little bit in shock. I dont know why, I know it is bound to happen and I expect and anticipate each birthday, but for some reason, when the day is here, it is mind blowing, that my children are older! So we had a little tea party with some of her friends this morning to celebrate her bday, and it was so much fun, but imagine 7 little girls pouring water for themselves, and passing cake and cookies around! The floor was not a very pretty sight, but Lily had a blast! This weeks cake happened to be the very first fondant cake I have ever done (that turned out beautiful), so I was excited to use it for this party. Anyways, Happy Birthday ma Belle!
